Little Hands and Feet Jewellery
Another new line of products being introduced and one which is already proving to be really popular! A much more practical alternative for capturing those little hands and feet than the normal pottery or canvas options.
If, like me, you took prints of your baby's feet when they were born and now, several years later, you want to transfer them onto a silver piece, then all I need is the image sent to me by email (jpeg) or a clear photocopy of it sent by mail. The image will be shrunk to fit the pieces you order.
If you don't yet have prints, then I can send you a kit consisting of inkless wipe and special paper, which will allow you to take the print of your baby with no mess. Inkless wipes are used in maternity hospitals in America for identification purposes and they are totally safe to use on young babies. Unless you are brave enough to have a go at taking prints with craft/kids paint (and if you do, baby wipes are particularly effective in cleaning those little toes!), inkless wipes are the the easiest and cleanest method of capturing prints.
Do remember though that you are very unlikely to be able to take handprints of babies under 18 months old and even at 18 months, you could struggle to get them to keep their hands open. Young babies will clench their fists and make it very difficult for you - my suggestion is to go with footprints for babies and avoid upsetting yourself and your baby by trying to do handprints.
